We had “some” people (sorry I forgot to count them) attend this month's meeting. This month’s meeting was our Community Launch event for Visual Studio 2008. Bart Sims and myself presented the launch material and had a couple demos.
I'd like to thank Emerging Solutions for supplying our group with pizza and drinks! I know everyone really enjoyed it. For our next meeting I need someone to volunteer to provide the food, I don’t yet have a company to sponsor our meeting…if your company is interested please contact me.
As usual we gave away all kinds of free stuff at this meeting…I think everyone who attended the meeting took something home with them! We gave away many copies of Visual Studio 2008, Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Windows Vista Ultimate Edition w/SP1, Microsoft Expression Web, etc.
During tonight’s meeting, I said that I had a few links of some good information about Visual Studio 2008 and some helpful things to get you started using it. Here are some links that I thought were worthwhile:
VS 2008 Multi-Targeting Explained by Scott Guthrie
VS 2008 Team Suite VPC from MSDN
VS 2008 Training Kit
.NET 3.5 Enhancements Training Kit
I’ll be uploading our PowerPoint presentation from tonight’s meeting soon, you’ll be able to find it in the Resources section of our website.
Upcoming Meetings:
June 17th 5:30 – 7:30 PM [BizTalk – presented by Abram Devonshire]
Upcoming Topics:
Visual Studio Team System
MVC
Frameworks
SharePoint
Google APIs, hacks, tips, etc.
LINQ project
WCF (3.5)
If there is something that you'd like to hear about that we don't already have listed, please send it to me and we'll see about working it into an upcoming meeting.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thanks.
